Raising awareness and supporting young people struggling with self-harm

13 young people facing the other way, holding hands with signs on their backs spelling you're not alond
Self-harm, in its various forms, is extensively used by young people in a fast-paced, highly pressurised world. Whilst striving to be self-sufficient, independent and strong, they look for ways to manage life. Self-harm's quick results make it extra appealing.

In a similar way that awareness is raised about use of drugs and alcohol, the truths about self-harm and its pitfalls need to be told. Prevention and early intervention are essential.
"Much needed and appreciated service"
A survivor's story is the most powerful and has the greatest impact on young minds. We're currently unable to deliver school assemblies but we've produced a free 15-min video which can be shown in schools, youth groups etc. (Please bear in mind this is not a professionally produced video). The video's purpose is to expose the reality about self-harm, be frank about the consequences and encourage seeking help as early as possible. It is important for these young people to discover they are not alone, that there are adults who understand exactly what they're going through and that there are ways forward.

The video can be requested by filling in the form below. You will be emailed a Zoom link and passcode to the recording that will be valid until the end of the month it was sent (for example, if you request the video on the 12th of March, it will only be valid until the 31st of March). Requests received the last few days of the month will not be fulfilled until the start of the new month. Please do not share the link. If you need the video at a later date, please submit another request. If you know of other services or organisations that could use the video, please share this website's page as we require individual requests. This will help us monitor the video's usage. Feedback is always appreciated.
