Membership

We welcome new members

​If you wish to support us and take a part in the running of the organisation you can become a member. 

Membership is open to any individual who is interested in the Battle Scars work, agrees with the Battle Scars ethos and wishes to further the Battle Scars purposes. Membership is not available to organisations and persons representing organisations.

  • Invited to AGMs
  • Vote for trustees and changes to our constitution
  • ​Voice your opinions and ideas at the AGM (and by sending us your ideas at any time they will be considered at each board meeting)
  • Receive a quarterly update on our work (by email only)
  • Receive our annual report
  • Receive an exclusive Battle Scars member badge
  • Receive a free Battle Scars wristband

Fees:
  • Individual: £18 per year
  • Individual (concession*): £9 per year
  • Individual (overseas): £24 per year
  • Joint: £24 per year
  • Joint (concession*): £12 per year
  • Joint (overseas): £36 per year

​Payment methods are cheque / postal order, BACS, PayPal or cash (in person only) with the option to Gift Aid. 
*Concessions are available for those on benefits [ESA, Carer's, Job Seekers, Housing, Council Tax, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Income Support & Universal Credit] under 21’s and over 60’s (proof must be submitted with application)

If the organisation is wound up, the members have zero liability to contribute to its assets and no personal responsibility for settling its debts and liabilities. All confidential membership data will be held securely according to the Battle Scars Confidentiality and Data Protection policies. Such information will not be shared with anyone outside of Battle Scars. Membership cannot be transferred to anybody else.

    2. About the Membership type you are applying for:
    Please note an individual membership provides one vote and a joint membership provides two votes at the Annual General Meeting
    ​* Concessions are available for those on benefits (ESA, Carer's, Job Seekers, Housing, Council Tax, Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Income Support & Universal Credit), under 21's and over 60's. 
    Proof of the above must be emailed at the same time as applying for membership to info@battle-scars-self-harm.org.uk Please put "membership concession proof" as subject.

    For any donation Battle Scars can claim the tax at no cost to you! This means for each £1 donated, Battle Scars can reclaim 25p from HM Revenues & Customs; you just need to tick the Gift Aid box below
    To allow us to claim Gift Aid on your membership fee, please read the declaration below and tick the Gift Aid box. Please note that a separate Gift Aid Declaration is needed for each individual member. Additional forms are available in Dowloads, by emailing info@battle-scars-self-harm.org.uk or by calling 07410 380747.

    Your membership will be valid from the first day of the month following approval by the trustees. You will receive your welcome pack as confirmation.
