Our definition of self-harm
|
We use a broad definition of self-harm to highlight its many forms and to consider the whole person and all their behaviours:
Self-harm is any harm we do to our body or mind, internal or external, with short or long-term effects. This would also include harmful behaviours such as not eating properly, over-exercising, over-working, punching walls in anger, risk taking that may result in injury or harm, self-neglect, obsessive negative thinking, sabotaging relationships, continually forming similar damaging relationships and countless more. |
