Facebook peer support group

Facebook group link button
"I have the most amazing support from the Facebook group, it has really helped to reduce my instances of self-harm so much"
Do you need people who truly understand what you’re going through?
Do you feel isolated, judged, or like no one “gets it”?
Are you looking for support to manage self-harm and the challenges that come with it?
Do you want to share your “small” achievements with people who know just how big they really are?
Our self-harm peer support group on Facebook is a safe, supportive community for anyone affected by self-harm — whether you struggle yourself or support someone who does. Here, you can talk openly, express what’s going on inside, and connect with others who understand, without judgment or pressure.

Parents, partners, friends, and carers are also welcome. You’ll find empathy, encouragement, and practical ideas for supporting someone you care about.

This group is moderated to keep it safe and respectful, and it’s open worldwide — so you can find support whenever you need it, wherever you are.

"The Facebook group is very friendly and even though I haven’t had the confidence to post much I have found it very helpful in reading other’s stories and the advice given as it can be relatable"
This is a private Facebook group (only members can see posts) for anybody, anywhere in the world. This group DOES NOT promote self-harm but it does promote acceptance. Members post and comment and other members offer what support they feel able to provide.

This is a peer support group and is not run by professionals.

"Comments are not judgemental and I can relate to many situations that the groups members are going through. Don't feel alone with my stuff"
The group rules question MUST be answered correctly before application to join will be considered.
For everybody's safety:
  • Graphic photographs and descriptions are not allowed
  • All conversations must remain within the group.
  • All content is monitored by a team of admins and moderators. Rules are strictly enforced.
This group is part of our efforts to remove the stigma and break down the isolation felt by people who self harm.
By helping others we help ourselves.
For more information about how the group is run and regulated please see our relevant policy (link below). This group may not be suitable for young teenagers.
We only consider applications to join from individuals. Requests from organisations are not considered.
"Facebook page is very well managed and mods are quick to act in situations which may break the rules"
