Background info The Battle Scars vision is to make sure nobody struggling with self-harm has to fight alone. We’ve been providing local, regional, national and international support to those affected by self-harm for the past 6 years. Soon we’ll be based in our first-ever premises, part of our new Onward Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub in South Leeds. We will be expanding the face-to-face peer support that we offer with more groups for adults, including a brand new group for older adults, and a group for family & friends of people who self-harm, as well as additional social activities. Our team is made up of 6 staff and approximately 70 volunteers, with a large percentage being neurodiverse or LGBT+ |
Why work for Battle Scars? We are a 100% survivor led and run organisation. Everybody has lived experience of self-harm. We are open and honest about our self-harm and mental health. Our peer support model runs across all levels of the organisation. We are flexible and adaptable. We care about our staff and volunteers. We nurture talents and support people's growth by increasing their skills. Every member of our team knows they are making a difference! |
